Første uge i Bordeaux

Så har vi snart boet en uge i vores nye hjem og vi er efterhånden faldet ret godt på plads.

Rækkehuset er af en ældre dato og ser måske ikke så velkomment ud udefra, men det har sjæl og charme indvendigt. Vores udlejer har et samlergen uden lige, der er simpelthen sjove, finurlige og underlige ting alle vegne (jeg brygger på et indlæg, hvor jeg viser mange af de sjove detaljer frem), men vi har efterhånden fået stuvet de fleste af hendes ting ad vejen og gjort plads til vores egne. Jeg er helt vild med det store køkken-alrum med direkte udgang til terrassen og haven. Her bruger vi langt de fleste af de vågne timer og her kan vi holde temperaturen en anelse køligere end uden for.

Apropos temperaturen, så har varmen fyldt en del i denne uge. Alle dage, bortset fra i dag, har vi haft over 30 grader og et par af dagene har vi haft lige i underkanten af 40 grader. Og det er dælme varmt! Når pigerne skal puttes har der flere aftener været tæt på 35 grader  i værelserne og når vi smutter i seng, er der stadig omkring 30 grader. Efter den første nat, blev vi derfor hurtigt enige om at købe nogle transportable aircondition anlæg, der kan stå på værelserne på 1. sal. Desværre har franskmændende ikke den store fidus til aircondition, så det var noget sværere at få fat i, end først antaget. Vi endte med at bestille nogle over nettet og indtil de dukker op, bruger vi store blæsere og stofbleer skyllet i koldt vand for at køle af.

Vi har fået en rimelig god hverdagsrytme allerede. Franskmænd møder åbenbart sent, i hvert fald på universitetet, så vi har god tid til at spise morgenmad sammen inden min mand cykler mod arbejdet. Når han er taget afsted, triller pigerne og jeg med klapvognen mod legepladsen, hvor vi leger de næste par timer. I løbet af formiddagen dukker der en masse andre mødre og dagplejemødre med børn op på legepladsen. Som regel er der 10-15 børn, hvoraf de fleste er i vuggestue-alderen. Vores to-årige leger fint med de andre børn trods sprogbarrieren, men det går lidt mere trægt med de voksne. De franske mødre småsnakker lidt med hinanden, men de og jeg ser stadig hinanden lidt an.

Efter et par timer på legepladsen triller vi hjemad igen, spiser frokost og så er det tid til en middagslur. Jeg havde frygtet at det ville blive svært at vænne vores 2-årige til at sove indendørs, men det er heldigvis gået helt smertefrit. Indtil nu har jeg desuden være så heldig, at den mindste også har taget en god lang lur samtidig, så jeg har fået lidt tid til mig selv. Når den ældste vågner igen, putter vi vand i badebassinet og så går eftermiddagen ellers med vand, is og vandmelon.

Temperaturen topper omkring kl. 18, så aftensmaden bliver indtaget indendørs, hvor der er en anelse køligere og med blæserne på fuld drøn. Pigerne har klaret varmen overraskende godt, men vi ser alligevel frem til weekenden, hvor de lover under 30 grader.
