Tredje uge i Bordeaux

Endnu en uge er gået og det er for alvor begyndt at føles som hverdag. Og jeg synes det går en hel del bedre end frygtet. Inden vi tog afsted, var jeg meget opsat på, at vi skulle finde en institutionsplads til vores ældste datter, i hvert fald et par dage om ugen. Jeg var nærmest skrækslagen ved tanken om, hvordan i al verden jeg skulle kunne gå alene hjemme med en baby og en 2-årig. Men det går egentlig meget godt. Faktisk går det så godt, at vi nok helt dropper at finde en institutionsplads og bruger pengene på lidt rengøringshjælp og lidt flere udflugter i stedet.

Min største bekymring var i virkeligheden, om jeg kunne stimulere vores 2-årige nok og hvordan hun ville klare et helt halvt år uden kontakt med jævnaldrende. Heldigvis er der næsten, hvad der svarer til en hel vuggestue på alle legepladserne hver formiddag og selvom hun ofte lige “tjekker ind” hos mig, så leger hun meget af tiden selv. På trods af sproget, synes jeg hun har rimelig god kontakt med de andre børn.

Herhjemme går det også fint, selvom vi, i hverdagene i hvert fald, opholder os her omkring 21 af døgnets 24 timer. Det kræver lidt fantasi fra min side engang i mellem, men for det meste er hun kreativ nok til selv at finde på noget og meget tålmodig når den lille kræver min fulde opmærksomhed.

Jeg har heldigvis heller ikke fået hjemmekuller (endnu?) og det skyldes delvist vores skønne udlejer (i daglig tale kaldet DeeDee). Hun er ofte hjemme i dagtimerne og hjælper gerne med at holde babyen, hvis jeg pludselig mangler en hånd. Desuden har hun tit gæster (og indtil nu, har vi altid været inviteret også) og i lørdags havde hun inviteret nogle venner med børn på besøg. Vi havde en hyggelig aften, jeg fik et par gode ideer til et par nye børnevenlige udflugtsmål i nærheden og børnene legede til langt ud over den normale sengetid.

Resten af lørdagen var gået med indkøb (der denne gang gik en hel del hurtigere end i sidste uge) og en tur på legepladsen, hvor vi mødte en snaksagelig britisk mand og hans 2-årige datter, der havde boet i Frankrig de sidste 15 år.

Søndag formiddag var vi endnu en tur i zoo og havde en hyggelig picnic, hvor vi fodrede de små søde vildkaniner, der hopper rundt på stierne. Om eftermiddagen kørte vi med sporvognen ned til centrum af byen og gik en tur. Centrum er næsten lukket af for biler og kun sporvognen kører på nogle af de mange små og store gågader. Vi fandt også verdens største vandpyt (aka Le Miroir d’eau), til stor glæde for vores 2-årige, der ikke var meget for at forlade den igen.

Hverdagene er gået som de plejer med legeplads om formiddagen, frokost og middagslur og derefter enten legeplads eller badebassin. Temperaturerne har været stødt stigende. Weekenden bød på omkring 20 grader, men siden tirsdag har vi rundet de 30 grader og i dag topper vi med 36. Vi har efterhånden vænnet os til de høje dagtemperaturer, men jeg glæder mig til, at solen begynder at gå ned lidt tidligere, så temperaturen bliver lavere til sovetid. Vores aircondition anlæg hjælper bestemt, men de larmer lige lovlig meget til at have tændt når man skal sove og varmen siver desværre ret hurtigt ind i værelserne igen. I morgen ser heldigvis ud til at være den sidste dag i denne omgang, der bliver over 30 grader.
